Your First Concert Guide
Never been to the orchestra?
You're exactly who we're playing for.
Welcome to the Biloxi Civic Orchestra. You don't need to know anything about classical music to love a night with the BCO. You don't need to dress up, and you don't need to know when to clap. Just come curious.
We're your neighbors: about 70 musicians from across the Gulf Coast who play because we love this music. This page covers everything you might wonder about before your first concert.
How do I Get Tickets?Tickets are $15-$25 depending on the concert and your seat selection. You can buy them right here: Get Tickets
Where are the concerts? Our concerts are held at the historic Saenger Theater, 170 Reynoir St, Biloxi, MS 39530
When to arrive?Doors open 60 minutes before the concert. Arriving early gives you time to find your seat, read the program and hear the orchestra tune. The moment everyone plays one shared note together is a small thrill of its own.
What to wear?Whatever you're comfortable in. You'll see people in jeans and people in date-night outfits, and both are perfect.
When to Clap? This is the question everyone asks, so here's the simple version:
Some pieces have several parts, called movements, with short pauses between them. Audiences usually wait until the whole piece ends to clap.
Not sure? Clap when you feel moved by the music!
How to enjoy the music? There's no wrong way to listen. A few ideas for your first time:
Read the program. It's short, and it tells you what to listen for in each piece.
Listen and see where the music takes you. Everyone has a unique experience!
